All medical marijuana at Fire Leaf dispensary is produced in Oklahoma at a licensed cultivation center. All licensed cultivation centers in OK are carefully regulated by the OMMA and must follow strict guidelines to ensure product safety. Dispensaries may not acquire marijuana products from any source other than the licensed and regulated facilities.

A medical marijuana dispensary is a simple, secure facility designed to provide access for patients to receive their medicine in a safe, welcoming environment. Qualified patients or their caregivers must present their state-issued ID cards at the door. No one else is permitted to enter the establishment other than registered employees attending to the facility. Once inside, patients are greeted by a friendly staff who are trained to answer questions about the medicine and helps the patient make decisions based on the patient’s individual health needs. The patient or caregiver then makes their selection, purchases the medicine, and exits. Security staff monitor events inside and outside the facility.

Dosage depends on the needs of the individual patient and can vary greatly. Patients experiencing severe chronic pain may consume several moderate to strong doses per day, while patients seeking help with appetite or sleep may sometimes only require a smaller single dose at the onset of symptoms. We provide our patients with suggestions on how to carefully adjust dosage to achieve the desired effect. Marijuana is fast-acting when inhaled, making it easy for patients to make dosing adjustments until symptoms are relieved.

Oklahomans of the age 18 or older may obtain a card by a board-certified physician. Minors are also allowed to register for licenses, but only with the approval of their parent or legal guardian, and two doctors.

It is necessary to have a recommendation from a board-certified doctor to get your license, but what exactly does that mean for Oklahomans? Medical marijuana can assist with a large number of illnesses or medical issues. Under State Question 788, there is not a specific list of conditions for doctors to give their recommendations. Physicians are allowed to authorize patients to put forward their registration for any disorder or disease that they believe medicinal marijuana could assist with.

Not every doctor in Oklahoma is on board with giving recommendations for medicinal marijuana. So far, only a certain few in Oklahoma are writing their approval letters for Oklahomans. As the time passes and medicinal marijuana is more common, the numbers of physicians are sure to go up. If you feel like medical cannabis can help you and your doctor is not willing to write recommendations, don’t stress.

When/if you are approved for your medical marijuana license, you will still have to follow specific state regulations. You will be legally permitted to possess up to;

• 3 ounces of marijuana on your person.
• 8 ounces of marijuana at your residence.
• One ounce of concentrated cannabis
• 72 ounces of edible medical marijuana products
• You will also be allowed to grow up to six mature cannabis plants and six seedlings.

If you are found with more than the legal amount you may incur fines.

You will have to have your medical marijuana license and a second form of Identification every time you buy medicinal cannabis.

No. Possession of marijuana without a valid medical marijuana license is punishable by jail time. The amount of jail time depends on your offense.

Oklahoma state law requires all medical marijuana in the process of being transported to be in a closed container, shielded from public view and clearly labeled “Medical Marijuana or Derivative”. Make sure that your medical cannabis is kept in a bag or somewhere safe and not visible if someone were to look into the window of your vehicle.

 All smokable or vaporized medicinal cannabis by a patient license holder must follow the same restrictions as smoking any form of tobacco or vaping products. These restrictions are commonly known as the “Smoking in Public Places and Indoor Workplaces Act” (found in Section 1-1521 et. seq. of Title 63 of Oklahoma Statutes).

 Patient licenses (excluding temporary licenses) expire two years after being issued. At that time, you will have renew your license at that point by submitting another application. You are also required to notify the Department of Health in writing within 30 days of any changes to your contact information.
